Norman
Noble Inc. continues to expand our technology and
capacity of high speed milling department. This includes
the recent addition of eleven Willemin-Macodel
7-axis contour milling machines, making the company one of
the largest providers of single-operation machining. This
high-precision Contour Milling equipment manufactures 3 dimensional
parts, such as metallic or PEEK based spinal
and extremity implants, by milling & turning them in
one cycle from bar-fed stock to a complete six-sided part.
Other
methods
for manufacturing complex six-sided parts typically require
additional machining steps that include multiple machining
processes. These machining centers can be programmed to automate
the manufacturing process into a single-operation, resulting
in higher output with greater precision & quality.
Norman Noble’s 7-Axis bar-fed machining centers ensure high productivity
for machining of complex and very precise parts.
Advantages of this
technology
Automatic
clamping device for milling and turning on the back
side of the part allows for a complete six sides part.
Dedicated
equipment for the machining of implant grade PEEK
components.
Profile
milling of extremely complex geometry.
Unmanned
machining process ensured by tool management and tool
breakage detection on the machine, allowing uninterrupted
processing until the part is complete.
Regularity
and consistency in the precision and the quality of
the parts.
Tighter

Norman Noble,
Inc. utilizes the most sophisticated technology of high-speed CNC
milling. While conventional CNC milling is standard in most machining
operations, 4 to 7-Axis high-speed equipment goes far beyond the
limitations of conventional-type machines. The benefits of this
process are readily apparent in the quality of the finished product.
Knowledgeable
programmers develop manufacturing methods that allow for the
most efficient routing of drilling, reaming, and contour milling.
In addition, the careful selection of tool bits (i.e., cobalt,
carbide, etc.) is essential to the quality and speed of production.
Norman Noble utilizes a variety of leading edge CAD/CAM platforms
such as: MasterCam, Pro-E, SolidWorks & CamWorks, which
are capable of supporting up to 7-Axis simultaneous machining.
High-speed CNC milling is an advanced process that requires significant
expertise for optimum efficiency. Norman Noble's highly experienced technicians
can bring the full capabilities of high-speed CNC milling to any contract
manufacturing project.
Norman Noble also uses high-speed CNC milling as a single or preliminary
machining process to produce precision metal parts. It is also used
prior to EDM machining as a cost and time saving step in the production
process. CNC machining is versatile enough to provide an economical
alternative to other, more costly machining methods.
7-axis machining is used to manufacture parts or components for medical
devices, medical implants, and aerospace industry. CNC high speed milling
is especially appropriate for the machining of 3-dimensional contour
metal or implant grade PEEK parts.
